Canadian Club of Montreal Luncheon Conference

On June 16, 2025, the Head of our organisation and Administrator of the Ship Fund, Caroline Healey, will attend the Canadian Club of Montreal luncheon conference entitled “Le Canada, nation maritime : renforcer notre compétitivité à travers le corridor Saint-Laurent–Grands Lacs”. The presentation will be given by Julie Gascon, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Montreal Port Authority.

Ports are key stakeholders for us, as they are often involved in oil spill response operations. They may also become claimants when their equipment and infrastructure are contaminated or when a spill disrupts their activities. However, they have accounted for only about 5% of the claims submitted to the Ship Fund since 1989. To increase awareness in this sector, we continue to engage with organizations such as the Association of Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA) and their individual members, like the Montreal Port Authority.
