Today, we share that Chiamaka Mọgọ, the first woman Deputy Administrator of the Ship Fund, will be leaving Ship and Rail Compensation Canada to pursue a new professional opportunity, effective March 21, 2025.

Since April 2023, under Chiamaka’s dedicated leadership, the Ship Fund saw the management of a historic number of eligible claims, increased engagement with ports and Indigenous communities, and a successful rebranding undertaken to enhance name recognition and to support increased access to justice for potential claimants. Chiamaka further championed a project that saw the completion of an international agreement with ITOPF Limited. She has also played a key role in the development of business and outreach plans for the Ship Fund.

The Administrator, Mark A.M. Gauthier, and the entire team wish to extend their sincere gratitude to Chiamaka for her invaluable contributions and dedication during her term as Deputy Administrator. We wish Chiamaka every success in her future endeavors.

If you would like to share your well wishes with Chiamaka, please email her directly at: c.mogo@sr-nr.gc.ca or the office at info@sr-nr.gc.ca before March 21st, 2025.
